On Saturday December 3rd, Northeastern men’s and women’s squash teams traveled to New London, Connecticut to face Connecticut College at their home courts. Connecticut College Squash is varsity, with both the men and women’s teams currently ranked number 29 in the country. Nonetheless, Northeastern Squash had high hopes for the match.
Ultimately, Northeastern women lost 3-6, with many of the matches going to four or more games. Freshman Kristy Wong, and third year Nicole Powers, both came from behind to win their matches in five intense games. The third win for Northeastern was from sophomore Molly Alvino, in four games.
The Northeastern men lost 1-8 against higher ranked Connecticut College. Despite suffering from various injuries over the past few weeks, freshman Karan Kishorepuria had a strong performance, winning the only match for the Huskies in four games. Senior Evan Jacobson was another standout performance, as he was just shy of stealing another win for Northeastern, ultimately losing in five grueling games.
Overall, both teams put in a solid effort and are looking forward to the second half of their season beginning in January.
