The Northeastern Men’s Squash Team competed in their season opening match against MIT on Thursday evening, October 29, 2015. Although the men suffered a 2-7 loss, they showed MIT strong competition and are looking forward to their second match up later this season in January. All players of the team posted good results and identified areas that require further refinement.
Co-captain Benton Mitchell posted his first win for the season, representing one of the two victories against MIT. The other was captured by freshman Viraj Shah, a strong new addition to the Men’s Team, in a nail-biting 17-15, 5th game win against MIT’s Peter Griggs.
The Northeastern Men’s Squash Team is looking forward to a strong season and has the ultimate goal to break into the D bracket. Based on these first-match results, the Huskies are in good shape and are only continuing their trek to the top!
