The men started the 2014-2015 season this past weekend, emerging victorious in their first four matches of the season. The Huskies took down Bryant, UVM, Sienna, and Boston College by scores of 6-3, 9-0, 9-0, and 7-2, respectively. Freshman Kadeem Murrell picked up his first individual collegiate victory by defeating Bryant’s Phil Carr by the score of 11-8, 11-2, 12-10. A gratifying highlight of the weekend play involved freshman, Connor Rouhan, who performed impressively against Robert Bohn of Boston College at the number 7 spot. After dropping the first two games, Connor came back to defeat Bohn 4-11, 5-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-5 thanks to his fierce determination and poised mental game on the court. Connor’s individual efforts exemplify the cohesive performance by Northeastern Squash over the entire weekend. Our fellow Huskies came in well prepared and ready to play with a splendid 4-0 record to show for it.
The men and women have their first joint match of the season this Saturday versus Colby College. We hope to see you there!
GO HUSKIES!
